three weeks off in a row…

wow. i have been taking naps, reading books, organizing, going on dates with my hubby, and scrapbooking for about two weeks now. it has been great. no, Mother, i am NOT caught up on laundry. it’s pretty piled-up. but, oh well. i don’t get graded on laundry. 🙂

here are three new layouts for the booth with current product. i hope i can do at least two more before Monday when I have to kit for CKC Charlotte and CKC Tulsa.

Love Grows Here: This is of syd and olivia. marti had just taken pics of livie. We were walking back to the house, but the two girls walked ahead of us. I just love how they grabbed hands and continued to hold hands for no reason other than love. such sweet cousins. syd calls livie her little sister. and, livie think syd hangs the moon.

i used authentique’s natural collection. it’s a great shade a teal that has been dulled down with grays, creams, and hints of black. the title is a combination of technique tuesday and thickers. i cut one of ali edwards’ stamps in two for the “love” and “here.” i did goof up a bit. the block slipped, because i pushed too hard. should have practiced first.a sandingblock helped me rough up the super shiny letters.

i embellished it with prima’s clock faces. they are very thin and light; so, i was able to use the whole package. i wanted more gold; so, i used jenni bowlin’s new gold sequins. i am a sucker for pretty sequins. i found brads with the same grays as the paper to push through the clocks and sequins. in the top right hand corner, you will see where i embossed a large flourish from hero arts and overlapped it with a large stamp from studio 490. But underneath it all, i embossed a large grid pattern – about ten times across the entire top of paper – in an antique gold embossing powder. the stamp is from unity. it makes for a great layered look for embossing powders. i did a bit of fussing cutting and inking to top it off. oh, i almost forgot. the lovely black and gold twine is from knot & bow. we have it in the booth.

next, i used jillibean’s irish farmhouse line to showcase my nephew, owen. we call him bubby. isn’t he the cutest?! the brown ruler paper just screamed to go along with the floor in his pic. also, i had recently bought my first mover and shaper by tim holtz for sizzix, and i just had to use it with this pic of him – mustaches are great for little boys. it has some washi tape, a vintage poker chip, and lots of layers. and of course, i had to use jenni bowlin’s domino chipboard. this is my second pack. and, i only have one left. i mounted the washi tape onto a strip of black cardstock so the black would peek through. last i cut the title from a die by simon says, and i added a little alcohol ink to one of heidi swapp’s buzz words.

bubby 1photo 5last one, is of livi on the day we took the hand holding pic above. so sweet. i just love watching her discover new things. she adores all things girl. so these flowers fit just right for some quick pics in the neighbor’s yard. this paper is also jillibean – cold cucumber soup. the butterflies are cut from jenni bowlin’s butterfly punch by fiskar’s. the stamped flowers are from a unity itty bitty stamp using distress markers with crackle accents. i sanded the flowers down after the crackle accents dried. the word “smiles” is ali edwards’ handwriting stamp by technique tuesday. i’m still thinking it needs something else added to it. hummmmm….
