love of unity, wink of stella, & two new cards…

i love unity stamps co. they are just fabulous quality stamps made of red rubber right here in the good ‘ole US of A! all parts of development from molding to bagging are done in their warehouse — a real mom & pop operation. we do sell these stamps in the booth but not online.

their artists are so talented. i especially love the dolls/ladies they create for cards and altered art. here are two cards that i created using derwent ink tense pencils. i can’t seem to leave these pencils alone. and of course they are touched with some wink of stella!

no, i did not color using copic! that’s ink tense pencils by derwent!! amazingly easy and fun. we do free shipping on all special orders. ;) they are basically like water colors, but when you color them in with a waterbrush, the pencil marks turn into ink. so cool.

Hidden Binding Vintage Chic Album

hidden binding

This is it! The binding method you have been waiting for! Mini-album heaven — in a not so mini-album. Nicole Petersen has simplified and manipulated the hidden-hinge album technique. She has taken it to a new level of simplicity and sophistication. No other binding method can attach so many pages of an album with no rings, ribbon, or binder. You will create an album with twelve pages that are put together with her hidden hinge technique that will simply amaze you. Using Nicole’s eclectic style of vintage flair, this over-sized album can be used for any theme you can imagine – from a get-away wedding to old, vintage photos of your grandparents. Join her in class to create this twist of paper fun using Marion Smith’s Nirvana Paper Collection.

Your kit will include: 16-12 x 12 pattern papers (2 of each – Marion Smith’s Nirvana Paper Collection), 5-sheets of Tim Holtz Glassine papers, vellum cardstock, flowers & gold leaves, 1-gold-leafing paint pen, corrugated paper, and more.

Mixed Media Funmixed media funDo you like hunting through your local thrift store, flea market, or antique store for fun finds? Do the smells of old books and paint send a little thrill up your spine? Have you ever scoured the isle of a home improvement store looking for an interesting and new surface to create on? If so, this is the class for you! Nicole Petersen has created a one-of-a-kind mixed media piece with you in mind. She will walk you step by step through a world of altered art and mixed media. Even if you are a beginner or an old pro, you will learn new techniques to turn everyday craft items into mediums that spark your moments of creation. Nicole is known for her inky, vintage, eclectic look of scrapbooking and altered art. Come join her in a class full of crystallizing misted flowers, decopaging old dictionary pages, and ripping apart old bedspreads for their dollies! You will want to recreate this work of art over and over.

Your kit will include: ceiling tile, embroidery hoop, vintage dolly, 1-Melissa Frances resin butterflies, 1-Melissa Frances 6″ Hanger, 5-metal chandelier charms, antique pearl buttons, 1-Prima ink pad, 1- jar of Diamond Dust, 1- 6×6 stencil by Crafter’s Workshop, 1-1 oz. bottle of Shimmerz Vibez, and various mixed media mediums and papers. Note: You will be given other color options other than blue to use as your base color.

Backgrounds by You 2

Nicole has created five new background designs to make your head spin and your heart throb! This year’s background making class will be in 8 x 8 format. Yes! A smaller palette, but a larger amount of time to create and finish all five backgrounds. She will have you inking, blending, stamping, resisting, bleaching, and more! You will even create your very own stamp pad and an entire mixed media wall-hanging. That’s right— one of your backgrounds will be a mixed media piece for you to either hang on your wall or give as a gift!

Your kit will include: 2- Distress Ink Pads (Iced Spruce and Tumbled Glass), 1-Ranger Ink Applicator, 5- foam pieces, 1-Wink of Stella pen, 1-12×12 patterned paper by Marion Smith Designs, 2-Distress Ink Markers, Technique Tuesday Chipboard, 2- custom designed Technique Tuesday stamps, 1-bottle of fabric paint, 1-12 x 12 template by Crafter’s Workshop, 1-canvas blackboard piece by Nicole Petersen, and more.

another card…

i am not really a card maker, but i can’t stop this week. i am in love with these inktense pencils. here’s a card that i used tim holtz’s new stamp set called christmas time with the inktense pencils.

now, i used the wink of stella clear on top of the parts that i wanted to look “fluffy.” i put a lot on. it doesn’t normally look this glittery. and, i used red, brown, & black wink of stella to add glitter to the rest. now, wink of stella is a liquid glitter waterbrush pen. so, it does  move the ink. i am just in love.

i ordered the large set of inktense pencils for myself a couple of days ago. so, i can’t wait til they get here! bc i could have done much more blending on his red suit, but the set of 12 only has 1 red pencil.

anyway, let me know if you are interested. email me. (nkpete@live.com)  i’ll special order them just for you, and all special orders this month get FREE shipping.

a new love…

inktense pencils by dewent. I am truly in love. you color just like colored pencils or watercolor pencils, but they are vibrant colors – not washed out. I removed some of the color while it was still wet for a more muted- distressed look.

they blend just like copics — that is for those of us (me) who are copic challenged!! here’s a sweet little card i made for the booth. we sell this stamp set by unity in the booth – not store

there are a lot of youtube videos on how to use them. jennifer mcguire’s video is my fave – of course.

if you want them, it would be through special order and you would get free shipping! all special orders throughout this month earn FREE SHIPPING! just email me for pricing: nkpete@live.com
